Palliative Care
Life's Seasons Palliative Medicine controls the symptoms and stress associated with serious illness, even as you receive curative treatment. It provides relief from symptoms including pain, shortness of breath, fatigue, nausea, loss of appetite, numbness, sleep deprivation, and more.
Mostly, it’s about helping you to better understand your condition and your choices.
How does palliative care work?
Life's Seasons certified nurse practitioners (CNPs) partner with your primary care physician to extend care into your home between doctor appointments. During the visit, you will receive:
- Assessment of your symptoms—physical, emotional, practical, and spiritual
- Relief as adjustments are made to medicines and care
- Education of your condition and your options
- Assistance is establishing health goals and a care plan
How much does palliative care cost?
Palliative care is covered by most major insurances including Medicare and Medicaid. Typically you are only charged the co-payment, just like an office visit.
